PROPOSALS
Ideas for future projects
This collection represents a culmination of projects awaiting opportune circumstances for realization. Among them are proposals drafted in response to specific calls for artists, as well as projects I have not had the time to realize.
THE HERD
A huge group sculpture, consisting of 40 individual leg pairs. Each pair is unique in its size and stride, together they form a mass walking in a distinct direction, it is up to the viewer to decide which is forward and which is back. They are not quite human, a kind of indistinguishable two-legged animal, but each one is its own character.
Proposed for Burning Man, it sets to confront the festival goers with the question, “Are you part of the herd?”, has Burning Man lost its unique sparkle and individuality radical self-expression?
INTERTWINED
Like Auguste Rodin's "The Cathedral", Two huge interlocking hands create a sacred space in between. The parametric design of the sculpture is a set of slices made out of wide wooden rings. The space is created both in between the hands and inside each hand. The ring structure creates a unique partition, allowing a flow of movement and views between the spaces. An intimate chapple that can accommodate just a handful of people.
FEMALE
A voluptuous female figure, whose shape is made out of metal rods, they bend conforming to her form.
With 6mm rods, she will be 100cm tall, or 200cm tall with 12mm metal rods.
SYMBIOSIS
The gazelle and the acacia tree. Both are symbols of the Israeli desert, each needing the other to survive and flourish. The deer feeds on the acacia leaves and shelters it in its shade. Its dung scatters the acacia seeds.
This sculpture celebrates the codependencies of these desert icons. The bodies of the gazelles are made of steel in the shape of an acacia tree. The resulting silhouette is a deceiving fata morgana, both a tree and a gazelle.
UNICORN
A whimsical jumping unicorn covered by
colorful LEDs. At 5 meters tall, it's set to be a centerpiece at the public square in front of the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art.
BRONZE HEADS
Various head sculptures are ready to be cast in bronze. They were sculptured digitally using Zbrush.
THE WIND
13’ tall kinetic sculpture. A flapping garment frozen mid-air, it’s made of tiny disks shimmering in the wind. Draping a woman struggling against the elements, shining beautifully while doing so. It honors the fight for freedom worldwide and the fragility of our existence.
THE WALKERS
On the corner of a busy street, there are three colossal sculptures in the form of legs. They appear to be in motion, but their direction is unclear. The sculptures are made from scraps of construction iron, compressed at the bottom, fading towards the sky. The three are undoubtedly a family, two parents, and a child. In the act of walking, there is a considerable power of choice, the choice between the many options that exist within the city: should we go to the destination by the fast route, or perhaps the long and interesting one? What path is the safest? What is the right choice? This sculpture, whose essence is movement, is intended to give passers-by a moment to stop and reflect, to be present, and to examine the direction in which they are going.
